Join operators finding millions in their utility bills with AI

Your CFO needs TrueMeter's Utility AI, not an energy PhD

You're overpaying on utilities. TrueMeter's Utility AI stops it
TrueMeter cuts your utility costs and eliminates the manual work entirely. The AI audits every billing item, fixes errors, and locks in the lowest rate for every location.

Lower Bills. Zero Bookkeeping.
Instantly Scalable.
Legacy bill pay agents and accountants process payments. TrueMeter reduces and audits them.
How the AI Utility Agent Works
The agent logs into every utility portal so your team never has to.
Using your credentials, TrueMeter's agent securely accesses each utility website, downloads your bills, interval usage data, and tariff documents. No manual downloads or portal juggling across dozens of providers.
Raw documents become clean, structured data ready for action.
The parsing agent processes every document ingested. Bills, usage records, and tariff files are read, cleaned, and transformed into relational tables. This structured data powers both the optimization algorithms and your cross-utility dashboard.
The AI never stops looking
for savings.
Our anomaly detection engine audits every line item across thousands of bills to correct billing errors, while our rate optimization engine coninsously selects the cheapest option across all utility rate plans. Both run continously, not once, ensuring your business adapts to changing utlities.
Cross-location intelligence your team can rely on.
Your dashboard analyzes your utility usage across all your locations with energy intensity scores benchmarked against industry averages and outliers. Whether a store is underperforming on efficiency or a property is trending toward a cost spike, you see it before it shows up on the P&L.

Frequently asked questions
How does TrueMeter’s payment plan work?
You pay TrueMeter a monthly prepayment every month and we pay your utility bills with your utility on your behalf. At the end of the month, TrueMeter reconciles the actual cost paid to utilities against your monthly prepayment so that you only pay for what you were charged. You can still monitor your power bills, make changes to your utility account and download audit-ready accounting reports, while outsourcing all utility management to TrueMeter.
Does TrueMeter cover both electricity and natural gas?
Yes, your TrueMeter payment plan covers both electricity and natural gas. TrueMeter automatically switches your electricity source to a renewable energy generator. Since there is no renewable energy option to power your gas-appliances (gas stove, gas heater etc.), you will continue receiving natural gas without interruption.
Is there a fee to add trash and water service?
If the service charge is bundled with your power bills, we will reflect it in your billing by passing through the actual costs to you. We charge no added fees to process trash or water charges.
If my utility requires two-factor authentication (2FA), how does TrueMeter handle it?
Our team works with you to set up access securely, while keeping your account protected. TrueMeter customers receive support from a dedicated Customer Success Manager that assists in any verification process.
What is TrueMeter’s relationship with utilities?
TrueMeter is a private company, separate from utilities. TrueMeter is an approved third-party service provider to many utilities and operates as an energy agent in all US jurisdictions. TrueMeter's subscriber agreement includes a tri-party contract between TrueMeter, the TrueMeter customer, and utility which allows TrueMeter to act on the customer's behalf and pay bills with utility. TrueMeter customers continue to own their utility accounts to ensure there is no disruption in service if they decide to stop using TrueMeter, but they no longer pay utility bills and paying for utility bills becomes TrueMeter's responsibility.
What happens if I terminate my account before the 12-month contract ends?
You can cancel at any time by emailing us at support@truemeter.com or by requesting a cancellation on your account. If TrueMeter has paid more for your utilities than you have paid to TrueMeter, the difference will be the cancellation fee. Otherwise, there will be no cancellation fee.
What happens if I open a new store?
Your new store will be added at any point in time, with no extra cost. TrueMeter optimizes, pays for and uncovers insights on any bill at any point in time.
What happens if I close a store?
We automatically handle the closure through your subscription and close the utility account for you. Your new store will be added at any point in time, with no extra cost. TrueMeter optimizes, pays for and uncovers insights on any bill at any point in time. Your new store will be added at any point in time, with no extra cost.
